For those of you familiar with the Blue Bomber, he will be making a long-awaited comeback in the first official Mega Man sequel since 1996's Mega Man 8 for the PlayStation. Mega Man 9 will be released on the Nintendo Wii's WiiWare store, and, to everyone's surprise, will feature graphics which are pulled directly out of the NES era of the first Mega Man games.

Robot bosses for the new iteration include Magma Man, Galaxy Man, Jewel Man, Concrete Man, Hornet Man, Plug Man, Tornado Man, and possibly Splash Woman, a first for the series.
It was announced today that the game, although brand new, will sport a modest 1000 Wii Points price tag, which is equal to 10$. I also want to remind you that the game is currently only confirmed for Japan, although the North American announcement shouldn't be too far, with E3 2008 being less that a week away.
Although some might be skeptical as to Capcom's decision to go way back in time graphically and gameplay-wise, but I'm honestly very impressed that they'd have the guts to do something like that. It's actually a great way to rediscover a classic series that was once on top of gamers' list.
