The Spirit is a film adaptation based on the immensely popular American newspaper strip The Spirit created by Will Eisner, one of the founding fathers of the comic-art medium. The story follows the adventures of a young detective named Denny Colt who, after being presumably killed, returns from the dead and assumes the personality of a masked vigilante, The Spirit, who dispenses justice from the shadows, and chases women on his spare time.
The movie is written and directed by Frank Miller, and features an all-star cast including Gabriel Macht as The Spirit, Samuel L. Jackson as arch-nemesis The Octopus, and sexy vixens Eva Mendez and Scarlett Johansson as hot, comicbook femme-fatales.
The movie opens on December 25th, 2008.
