Righteous Kill is an upcoming action and crime film that will star Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Donnie Wahlberg, and Curtis "50-Cent" Jackson. The film will be released on September 12, 2008.
Two veteran New York City detectives (De Niro and Pacino) work to identify the possible connection between a recent murder and a case they believe they solved years ago; is there a serial killer on the loose, and did they perhaps put the wrong person behind bars?
What's particular about this production is that for the first time in both Pacino and DeNiro's huge and long-lasting careers, they will be sharing on-screen time as the two main protagonists. The 1995 crime drama Heat had them both featured as main characters but they only shared the final scene together. Before that, they both played in the 1972 drama The Godfather II, but were never on-screen at the same time.
