T.I. is getting ready to release his sixth highly-anticipated album 'Paper Trail', which was initially scheduled to be released back in mid-August, but has since been pushed back three times, and is now officially coming out on September 30. The King of South has been working on his new album while under house arrest on his pending gun charges.
He confirmed in August that Rihanna, Justin Timberlake (looking forward to that collab), Usher, Fall Out Boy and John Legend would appear on the album. Other confirmed guests include Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne (all on the same track; see below), Swizz Beatz, and The-Dream. Production will feature Drumma Boy (he made it HUGE since 'Put On'), Danja, Scott Storch, J.R. Rotem, Jim Jonson, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Toomp (what's a T.I. album without one of his tracks?).
The album is really shaping up to be one fuckin' solid effort, and certainly one of T.I.'s best to date. Check it out and see if you agree. Also, keep in mind that there still hasn't been any official track list, and seeing as some of these tracks have been leaked unintentionally, they might not necessarily make the final list.

First up is the J.R. Rotem produced track 'Let My Beat Pound', it's one of my personal favorites at the moment. Very catchy.

With the first single 'Whatever You Like' taking the No. 1 spot on the charts, it seems very likely that this song will be released as the next single. 'Live Your Life' featuring Rihanna was featured as one of the main performances at MTV's recent VMAs earlier this month. Every single person and their mothers probably heard this song's sample, the smash hit, and also extremely over-played 'Dragostea din tei' by O-Zone, and I'm warning you in advance so that you prepare yourself mentally because you will be hearing this song again and again at the radio.
As for the song itself, it's a really solid effort, and a great collab. Most people probably know that I'm not the biggest Rihanna fan, but with her recent 'Disturbia' (great track) and now this, I gotta admit that she's growing on me.

Up next is unusually spelled 'What Up, What's Haapnin', supposedly the third single off Paper Trail. Produced by non other than extremly-in-demand Drumma Boy, this is a true signature T.I. track. For those of you that don't know, until recently, The King of South had been involved in a feud with rapper Shawty Lo (who the fuck?) when the latter released a diss track. Well this song is T.I.'s response (along with Paper Trail track 'No Matter What').

Another hot song? I'm telling you, this album is gonna be intense. 'My Life, Your Entertainment' features R&B superstar Usher who gets on the chorus and a verse, and is yet another Drumma Boy production.

Ok ok, so I've been keeping the best for last. This next track has been hailed as one of the most important songs of 2008. 'Swagga Like Us' features, get ready for this, Jay-Z, Kanye West and... Young Weezy baby! Production is by Kanye West as well.
It's will supposedly be featured on Paper Trail, but it's also the comfirmed first single off Jay-Z's eleventh studio album The Blueprint 3. The track contains a sample from the M.I.A. (ugh...) track 'Paper Planes'. Both Kanye West and Lil Wayne go 'T-Pain' on this one using the Auto-Tune effect. The official single cover is Jay-Z's so I'm more than skeptical about it actually appearing on T.I.'s album, but it doesn't matter because he makes it his with his tight verse, but all four artists go intense hard on this one.

So? Didn't I tell you this album is going to be great? Definitely one of the hottest of 2008. Make sure to get yourself an actual copy when it comes out on September 30th and help T.I. sell 'Tha Carter III' numbers. I'll be back later tonight... And use the Shoutout box dammit!
Please keep in mind that these songs are for promotional and personal use only.
